Bio for Press Use

Jason David Newton is a Mechanical Technician at Group 14 Technologies and a lifelong resident of Moses Lake, Washington. Born in 1992 at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, he attended Washington State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Operations. He holds a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential from three years working as a Second Assistant Engineer and Oiler aboard the C/P Starbound in the Bering Sea.

In January 2024, Jason came to faith in Jesus Christ. That season became the starting point for his writing at jasondavidnewton.com, where he covers Christian fatherhood, blue collar work, life in small town Washington, and the Pacific Northwest from a grounded, no-fluff perspective. He is a devoted father raising his son Ryker in Moses Lake and an active member of Grace Harvest Church.

His writing has been covered by Digital Journal, Patch Moses Lake, Gerald Grain Center, and featured in a published interview on Muck Rack. He is available for interviews, feature stories, and podcast appearances on topics related to faith, fatherhood, trades work, small town community, and life in the Pacific Northwest.

How to Pitch Me

Straight from the Muck Rack interview: here's exactly what works and what doesn't.

Do this

Be specific and local

Tell me why you thought of me specifically. If you read something I wrote and it fits your story, say that. Personalized pitches get read. Mass blasts get deleted.

Don't do this

Generic off-topic outreach

If you can swap my name for anyone else's and the pitch still makes sense, it's not going to land. I write about faith and fatherhood. Crypto tools are not my lane.

Do this

Keep it short

Three paragraphs that get to the point beats six that bury the ask. I'm in the shop or with my son most of the day. If it takes too long to figure out what you're asking, I've already moved on.

Do this

Send it before 9am Pacific

Morning before the shift starts is when I can actually read and respond. Coffee in hand, house quiet, kid still asleep. That window is when you get my full attention.

Send a Media Inquiry

Use the form below or email directly. Both work. Best response time is morning before 9am Pacific.
